The Linda Lindas became known from a library performance video and then did the unlikely thing: they got good, fast. The songs are short, tuneful, and delivered with the specific ferocity of people who have not yet been told what they are allowed to do. Straightforward punk played well is rarer than it should be. Grace Bowers opens, and she is the reason to arrive early — a Nashville guitarist working in blues-rock with a fluency that does not match her age, fronting a band that can keep up with her. The Basement East is small enough that both acts will be within twenty feet of you. Two acts still early in the story, on a Monday. Go now and be insufferable about it later.
