Russian Circles w/ Pelican

Russian Circles build long instrumental pieces out of loops, patience, and enormous low end — the kind of writing where a single chord change ten minutes in does the work a chorus would do elsewhere. Pelican come from the same city and the same lineage but hit harder and sooner. Together it is a full evening of heavy music with no lyrics to hide behind. The Basement East is the right scale for this: a room where volume becomes physical rather than merely loud. There is no frontman to organize the crowd, so the audience settles into something closer to collective concentration. Earplugs are not a suggestion. Expect to feel the bass in your sternum on the walk back to the car.
