Tasjan has spent a decade dodging categorization — power pop, Americana, glam, plain confessional songwriting — and the constant is a guitar player’s ear for arrangement and a lyricist’s taste for the deflating detail. He is very funny live, and then without warning he is not. A release show sharpens that, because the material is new and the room is full of people who know him. Madeleine Kelson opens.
