The Read
The Time Jumpers play fiddle-led western swing with a lineup drawn from the top of Nashville’s session pool, and the whole thing has the feel of a very good rehearsal that the public is allowed to watch. Standards, Bob Wills material, solos passed politely around the stage. It is unpretentious in a way that translates to people who do not follow this music at all. That is what makes it the right pick this particular week. Visitors want to see something that could only be Nashville, and this is more honest than anything on Broadway. 3rd & Lindsley is seated, sounds good, and serves food. Get a table, order dinner, and let the fiddles do the explaining.
