The Read
The 3.0 billing is the entire pitch: no horn section, no orchestra, no lute. A trio forces the Police material back into its original shape, where the songs are mostly negative space and a bass line doing more work than seems reasonable. It also exposes everything, which is a fairly confident thing to do at this point in a career. The solo catalog gets harder in this format and generally benefits from it. Expect a set weighted toward the early material, because that is what the arrangement rewards, and expect the crowd to sing parts that used to be played by a synthesizer. This is the version of a legacy show with something to prove rather than something to protect.
