Rudy's Jazz Jam
Sunday, September 13, 2026 · 9:00 PM · Rudy's Jazz Room, The Gulch
The Read
An open jam is only as good as the house band and the etiquette, and Rudy’s has both. The core trio sets the tempo and the key, and whoever is on the list steps up and either keeps up or does not. Some nights it is students being brave. Some nights a touring musician who just got off a gig walks in and rearranges the room’s expectations. That unpredictability is the pitch. You are not buying a set by a known quantity, you are buying access to the part of the scene that happens after the paying gigs end. Sit at the bar, do not talk over the solos, and stay later than you planned. Sunday nights are usually the loosest version of it.
