The Read

Most people met Hubbard through “Redneck Mother,” a joke that outran him for decades. What he built afterward is the real catalog: greasy, talking-blues Texas grooves, open tunings, songs about mortality and gratitude delivered in a voice that sounds like it has been up all night on purpose. He got sober, got funnier, and got much, much better. 3rd & Lindsley suits him — a listening room with a bar attitude, where the between-song stories count as much as the songs. Hubbard is one of the great tellers of those, and he takes his time. Expect grooves that sit on one chord longer than they should, and expect to enjoy exactly that.

The Room

3rd & Lindsley

818 3rd Ave S

One of Nashville's steadiest professional mid-sized rooms — just outside the Broadway crush, built for roots, session-player, and Americana bills.

Shape The Night

Before

Assembly Food Hall

short ride recommended · 3 min - Downtown

The same sprawling food hall, played from the SoBro side — practical when the show's near the Hall of Fame and logistics matter more than atmosphere.

Show: Ray Wylie Hubbard at 8:00 PM

After

Robert's Western World

short ride recommended · 3 min - Downtown

The best honky-tonk on Lower Broadway. No cover. Whoever's playing is probably incredible.
