Mike Farris Sings The Soul of Christmas celebrating 14 years!

Farris fronted the Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies before turning toward gospel and soul, and the conversion took: he sings holiday material the way it was sung in churches long before it was sung in shopping malls. Big band behind him, backing vocalists, arrangements with room for a horn chart and a shout chorus. The sentiment is real, which is the whole difference. Third & Lindsley is a seated, drinks-on-the-table room, and by year fourteen the audience largely knows the drill. Expect regulars who come annually, a set that builds rather than coasts, and at least one hymn delivered with enough force to reorder the evening. The most reliably moving Christmas show in town, and not remotely a quiet one.
