Larry, Steve, and Rudy Gatlin built a career on a sound no session group can fake: three brothers who learned to sing together as children and never had to work out the blend. The hits — “All the Gold in California” chief among them — were always vehicles for that stack of voices rather than the other way around. A Christmas program suits them, since carols are harmony writing at its most exposed. The Franklin Theatre's seated, restored-movie-house frame keeps it intimate, and the between-song patter is half the show with a family act this old. Expect an audience that knows the records, and a couple of moments where the three voices lock and the room goes quiet on its own.
