Interpol w/ DIIV
Saturday, October 17, 2026 · 8:00 PM · The Pinnacle, The Gulch
The Read
Turn On the Bright Lights arrived sounding like New York in one specific year, and the easy assumption was that the band would date along with it. They did not. Paul Banks’s deadpan, Daniel Kessler’s interlocking guitar figures, and a rhythm section that treats restraint as an instrument have kept working because the writing was always structural rather than atmospheric. DIIV open, which makes for a coherent evening — two bands who understand that guitars can be enormous without being aggressive. The Pinnacle is a big new downtown room with a PA that rewards this material’s low end. Expect the lighting to do a great deal of the work and the band to barely acknowledge the crowd. That is not coldness. That is the format.

Gumbo BrosPo'boy bread flown in from New Orleans. The chicken and andouille gumbo is the anchor; the debris fries are worth knowing about. This is the real Cajun thing.
