Kevn Kinney has fronted Drivin N Cryin since 1985, and the band's whole identity is that it won't sit still: Lynyrd Skynyrd one song, R.E.M. the next, folk confession into a wall of guitars. R.E.M.'s Peter Buck was an early champion; their breakthrough “Fly Me Courageous” went Gold, and “Straight to Hell” and “Honeysuckle Blue” became Southern bar-band scripture (Darius Rucker cut “Straight to Hell” in 2018). They're in the Georgia Music Hall of Fame, and they've never stopped touring. Eastside Bowl is a good room for the faithful and the curious both. Expect old fans who know every chorus, younger players tracing the lineage, and a set that refuses to make regional rock feel tidy. An 8 p.m. Saturday for people who like their rock with a drawl and a chip on its shoulder.
