Christmas with the King: A Holiday Tribute to Elvis
Saturday, December 19, 2026 · 7:30 PM · The Franklin Theatre, Franklin
The Read
Presley's holiday records are not novelty — they are blues, gospel, and a little smirk, sung by someone who understood both the sacred and the profane end of the season. A tribute has to decide early whether it is doing impersonation or interpretation. The good ones lean on the band, keep the jumpsuit business to a minimum, and trust that “Blue Christmas” is a genuinely sad song. The Franklin Theatre gives it a seated, well-behaved frame, which cuts against the material's natural swagger in ways that can help. Expect an older crowd, a lot of affection in the room, and at least one gospel number that reminds everyone where he actually came from. A Saturday-night novelty that has a decent shot at being more than that.
