The catalog is the least consistent thing about him and that is the point: junkyard folk, Odelay collage-funk, the Prince-adjacent falsetto records, and then Sea Change, which is one of the saddest albums ever made by someone previously known for jokes. Live, he moves between those modes without transition and expects the band to keep up. They usually do. Halloween gives him license he barely needs. Expect covers, expect the crowd in costume, expect at least one stretch where the show becomes a dance party and one where it stops dead for a solo acoustic song. Truth is a big room and this is the last night of October. If you are only going out once this month, this is a defensible choice for the night.
