The format is the Nashville songwriter round in its purest form: several writers on stools, guitars in laps, each playing songs they wrote that somebody else made famous, with the story behind the song attached. Hearing a number-one country single played by the person who actually wrote it, in the key they wrote it in, reframes it entirely. Sometimes the demo version is better than the record. A 12:30 start makes it a lunch-hour show, which is unusual and useful — it does not consume the evening. 3rd & Lindsley is seated with food service and decent sound. If you have out-of-town family here through the holiday weekend, this does more work in ninety minutes than a night on Broadway does in five hours.
